چکیده
Background: Oral cancer represents a significant component of the global burden. It develops as result multiple risk factors. The main histological form oral is squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). disintegration extracellular matrix (ECM) one key hallmarks progression, which stimulates invasion tumoral cells into neighbouring tissue. Matrix metalloproteinases-9 (MMP-9) can degrade different elements ECM and basement membrane. Methods: A total 35 histologically diagnosed cases OSCC (n=25) healthy individuals (n=10) control were included. Immunohistochemical staining was performed on all cases. results analysed using SPSS version 20. Results: Increased expression MMP-9 observed in (n=23/25; 92%) compared to individuals. Statistically, relation while comparing grade intensity among (p=0.001). Conclusion: present study planned assess immunohistochemical Evaluation could be clinical importance used diagnostic predictive marker OSCC. Relationship between the Expression of Matrix Metalloproteinase and Clinicopathologic Features in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Introduction: Squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity is one of the most important and common types of head and neck malignancy, with an estimated rate of 4% among all human malignancies. The aim of this study was to determine the association between expression of matrix metalloproteinase 2 and 9 and the clinicopathological features of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Materials and Met...
متن کاملExpression of Matrix Metalloproteinase-2/9 and Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinase-1/2 as Predictive Factors in Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Introduction: Metalloproteinases and their tissue inhibitors play an important role in the metastases formation. A multistage process of carcinogenesis requires the involvement of numerous enzymes and compounds that facilitate the expansion of tumor cells. The formation of metastases depends on both metalloproteinases and tissue inhibitors activation leading to the acti...
متن کاملMatrix Metalloproteinase Expression Significance on Oral squamous cell carcinoma Clinical Outcome
Introduction:Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC) is an invasive neoplasm with a high prevalence. Matrix Metalloproteinase (MMP) has been thought to play an important role in both the invasion and metastasis of tumors. The aim of this study was to explore the significance of MMPs expression in clinical outcome of these patients. Materials:The most recognized data Bases such as PubMed, Google sc...
متن کاملa multicenter study on expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor, matrix metallopeptidase-9 and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2 in oral and maxillofacial squamous cell carcinoma
conclusions: lymphatic metastasis in patients with oral and maxillofacial scc is closely related to the positive expression of vegf, mmp-9 and timp-2. mmp-9 and timp-2 can affect the progression of cancer, which is valuable for studies on oral and maxillofacial scc genes. objectives: to explore the association between expression of vegf, mmp-9 and timp-2 in oral and maxillofacial scc and clinic...
متن کاملFluctuating Roles of Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma
One hallmark of cancer is the degradation of the extracellular matrix (ECM), which is caused by proteinases. In oral cancers, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), especially MMP-9, are associated with this degradation. MMPs break down the ECM allowing cancer to spread; they also release various factors from their cryptic sites, including cytokines. These factors modulate cell behavior and enhance ...
